What’s your definition of success? There are many stories about success, but first, what is the definition of ‘success’? According to Google dictionary, ‘success’ is defined as ‘the accomplishment of an aim or purpose’, but some people might say or believe that having expensive and luxury items are a sign of success. So if success is defined as ‘the accomplishment of an aim or purpose’, how do you reach success? Everybody has different theories on how success can be reached, but here are some principles on how ‘success’ can be attained.
Take 100% Responsibility For Your Life
If you want to be successful, you have to take 100% responsibility for everything that you experience in your life.
– Jack Canfield, The Success Principles
Some people may not agree with this quote simply because they might believe a lot of things that occur are out of our control, which may be the case at times. However, you can control your achievements, the results you produce, the quality of your relationships, how you feel, your health and much more. It’s definitely not easy, but sometimes we make it harder than what it is simply because we love the blame game.
Sometimes you have to look internally for the answers to why you aren’t where you want to be in life, sometimes external factors come into play, but you can still create the quality of life you want.
So ask yourself, do you take 100% responsibility for your life?
Learning Is A Fundamental Key To Growth
Upon finishing university this May, I asked a couple of people what they were going to do next (I know it’s an annoying question) they all replied ‘I’m done with education, it’s too stressful’, you may be done with education but you will never be done with learning. Learning is a fundamental key to growth, how can you grow if you don’t acquire new knowledge? You might have ambition, but ‘ambition without knowledge is like a boat on dry land’, you won’t be going anywhere.
There are so many ways to gain new knowledge on the go; there are endless amounts of eBooks/iBook’s, podcasts and blogs to gain information from. A lot of people wonder how millionaires and those ahead of them know so much, they know so much because they read, and they dedicate a lot of their time to reading and finding out new information that could possibly benefit them.
Real Wealth Takes Time To Achieve
Wealth just doesn’t fall into your lap by the click of your fingers, there’s often struggle and hardships involved, including challenges and obstacles. Get rich quick schemes almost never work and there’s always a huge deposit involved. Rather than doing it the shady way, learn personal finance, learn to invest and learn to save.
The more you learn the more you earn.
– Warren Buffet
KSE (Knowledge, Strategy, Execution)
Social entrepreneur Tai Lopez uses the acronym KSE. It’s a very memorable framework that you can use if you want to get something done. Most people probably use it unconsciously but tend to forget to use all of three parts of the framework. It can be used in aspects of your life, say for example when wanting to start a new business.
How can you progress if you don’t take time out to process your achievements and failures? There’s something powerful about self-reflection, it makes you think about how you see yourself and the world. When you understand yourself, you can use that knowledge to create better working relationships with those around you. You can do daily self-reflection tasks by keeping a journal to reflect on positive and negative experiences, how you felt, what you did and what you need to improve or change.
